Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241510 Silver Dial Chronograph Watch

I own nearly a dozen Victorinox watches and I must admit that this one has me infatuated -- a truly beautiful combination of gold, silver, and ivory, and a brown band that is finished as soft, supple nubuck rather than the usual smooth leather.

As many reviewers often say, the pictures here do not do full justice to the actual item. With this timepiece there is a true sense of opulence and style that stops short of seeming gaudy, while always conveying quiet good taste. This is the watch to wear with your favorite suit. Since it is not an automatic it is also lightweight, sitting very comfortably on the wrist, and the fact that it is powered by a quartz battery brings down the price-point appreciably as well.

I first saw this watch at a major department store for full price. I almost bought it but decided to check Amazon first. I'm glad I did because I saved a lot of money and was spared the sales tax. Amazon delivered the watch in a flash, in full Victorinox packaging, including a handsome display case and instructions.

Great timepiece... Just got this watch today after looking at it at teh Swiss army store for $550. Was able to get this from amazon for $385. That said, since amazon isn;t an authorized dealer they offer a 2 year warranty that is pretty much identical to the 3 year factory warranty in terms of what it covers (obviously you get an extra year from factory). My experience with swiss army watches has been great as this is my second one in 10 years... The first one still works and has had only 1 battery change. This watch looks and feels as expected. In person, it looks a little darker and classier... the amazon picture makes the face almost look white, but inreal life it is a true silver finish and the gold is more subtle than in the picture, which I think makes it look better. That said, Great watch, great price, shipped on time and arrived next day as promised.

Thanks Amazon!

I bought this watch recently as a gift for my husband on his birthday. I was really sceptical coz it was my first time purchasing something so expensive online! I did a lot of research on affordable swiss watches and read the reviews and tried following my gut on this watch. THANKFULLY it turned to be an awesome purchase and my hubby Loved it!! It looks classy and beautiful as a watch to be worn semi-casually or on formal occasions!
I had got it for $330 at that time, but I was just dissappointed in them not giving me the note as mentioned for the birthday. However the timepiece itself is a great buy and came well in a good looking Victorinox box ready for a gift and off course on time with special delivery option.
I Hope I get the warranty as expected however by Amazon! Been exactly a month since I got it!

Hope this review helps those who're looking for a Victorinox!

Polar RCX5 Heart Rate Monitor Training Computer

If you search for "Polar RCX5 In Depth Review" from DC Rainmaker (I read it but do not know this person), you'll find the most detailed review of any Polar product, showing both GPS features (though Polar has 3 different GPS modules). The reviewer has a lot of experience with GPS and other training devices, but this is his first Polar device using the *.HRM file format for PC connectivity.

As an unbiased user since 1998 (never received any discounts nor any other incentives), and more than a year testing Garmin Edge 500 and Forerunner 305, I can say that the Polar devices are slightly more difficult to set up, but far more flexible for many athletes. The DC Rainmaker reviewer uses hyper-rigid training programs planned in advance. Many people prefer something more flexible. Also, for cyclists out on the road, you do NOT want to have the entire ride programmed to such detail except for the most structured intervals. What you really want is to fuse both structured and unstructured intervals.

The beauty of the Polar products is that you can perform interval training at any time, not worrying about the lap button because you can easily reformat all of the reports after you download the raw data.

Let's say you are out riding and feel like attacking a certain hill. You then wonder, how long did that take me after all? By examining the features in the HRM file, you can assign a lap termination to any sample data.

Let me explain more; the Polar devices work by taking the user-controlled sample rate, anything from 1 second to 60 seconds, and it records the velocity, altitude, cadence, and heart rate. When you press the lap button, it creates a separate sample with all of that same data.

When you recap the data, you can delete or move the special lap buttons, and you can assign a lap indicator to any of the sampled data. So if you are sampling at 1 second (recommended if you connect your Polar device frequently enough to your computer), you can examine your performance without worrying so much about the special "lap sample data." The advantage of hitting the lap button is obvious I hope, but having the flexibility is great too.

The only thing I can't do that I have asked for is to have nested laps. As soon as you mark a subdivision, you lose the calculation in front and behind.

Let's say I have a hill that takes over half an hour to climb, and within that hill I also have sections that I want to hit really hard. These would be nested laps. If I take the lap button at each landmark, I have to manually calculate the sum of the entire hill, or I have to delete the intermediate laps to show the automatic calculation. No big deal, but it would be very useful to redefine laps as the metrics between any pair of lap markers, whereas now they are simply a single point, both terminating one calculate lap and starting the next. If each 'lap' was by definition, any pair of markers, you could leave all of your lap markers (as single samples) and define pairs of those markers as "laps."

Lap marker
Lap termination
Lap pair

So then I hit the lap button at all of the key point, but I might miss one. In the end, I fix the one I miss, then I take the pairs. Lap 1 is the entire hill, so that lap is lap-marker "A" and lap marker "Z." My next lap is the point between marker "B" (or "C") and "D" or whatever. According to the current scheme, I would have subdivided the hill. The laps can only currently be defined by adjacent markers. Any lap you add simply subdivides the adjacent markers you split when entering it.

If that's still confusing, go ahead and ask questions and I'll get back to you.

I'm not going to talk a lot about the redundant information from the DC Rainmaker review. What I suggest is actually to look at the Polar RS800 and CS600x, because these are the devices that can take the latest GPS, and have the best features for hosting *.HRM based files, which are required for the software features I advocate.

The CS600X is the only device that can use the cycling power add-ons (pedals from Look plus the existing chain tension calculator) AND GPS with HRM recaps (the CS500 only recaps summaries, but does not take sample recordings!), BUT it does not AFAIK take the running pod (stride pod). With GPS you can still measure speed of any exercise, but cadence is something athletes often want for running. It's a tough call as a triathlete; running pod or cycling power? This device, the Polar RCX5 does not accept cycling power either.

If you go to
[...]

web dot polar dot fi slash en slash products slash compare?product1=nid_7881

And choose the 3 devices, you'll be able to see in one table which is best for you. This model is probably the most flexible, but truly they each deserve consideration because each of them offer a bundle of features with the excellent *.HRM format (in addition to the GPS files, if you use that add-on). All can take cycling cadence, and it also helps to check frequently for an update, because it is not unknown for Polar to modify the selection by adding to the firmware and uprevving the model. The CS600X is an uprev from the CS600. The letters to the right of the numbers are always indicative of hardware bundles (like RS800CX) or uprevs, like the CS600X.

The only other caveat I have for Polar is not their fault. The Polar HRMs were literally the first portable heart rate monitors, and I believe also the first wireless models. The first model was a cassette recording that simply recorded the tone indicating the rhythm and then calculated back in the lab. The first wireless heart rate strap was a Polar product, and I can't be sure, but I think the first PC connected HRM was a Polar model. They definitely had the first PC connected cycling HRM (recording the HRM file format along with cycling cadence and velocity, which then calculates distance) and in the late 1990s they offered the S-series cycling HRMs with altitude added, and shortly after they offered the power metrics.

The point of all this is that there are a lot of users out there, and many of them purchased products knowing they bought "the best" but never figured out how to use them. I can't tell you how many times I have seen guys riding Polar HRMs with Ir ports, but did not know how to use it. I only know this when they tell me. As a consequence, you'll find lots of message threads posted at various web sites, including Polar's own "community" with unanswered questions. The web site is also not clear that the speed, cadence, GPS, power, running stride pod, and any other accessories are NOT universally usable on their devices. There are rational reasons for this, but they do not in my opinion make it clear while you are shopping that there are at least 3 divisions of products. The lowest cost are ordinary servos that transmit an uncoded tone to read. These can pick up adjacent servos from your cycling group (cyclists ride very close to each other). The next level up are coded to protect against this. All of the downloadable devices use coded servos. This makes a lot of sense. However (remember, Polar was the brand that created this market, others only followed) the next level of performance was desired and when the 2.4GHZ and higher spectrum became available, they created a new class of products used in the CS600, RS800 and now the RCX5. They can be mounted anywhere relative to the watch, you can leave it in your pocket, etc. They are really excellent and have to be "paired" before using them. This eliminates all crosstalk and dropouts. The data integrity is not near-perfect. Maybe it is perfect, I just don't like saying that.

There is one final caveat regarding these servos; the highest quality models seem to have to be sent in to have their batteries changed. In theory, anyone with the tools can do this, but it's not at all clear how you'd even open it! They seem waterproof, and seem sealed completely. I've not ever had to replace one in several years, but I've also tended to purchase new ones every 2 to 3 years. The heart rate strap was once the only device that required sending in for cell change, but they responded to the criticism, now offer a user-changeable cell, and it was in that iteration that they sealed the other servos! I believe only the cycling speed, and cycling cadence have this problem. The running pod, GPS, and power are all user-changeable.

I hope this helps.

Stuhrling Original Men's 127A.3315C2 Emperor's Grandeur Automatic Skeleton Silver Dial Watch

I ordered this watch using an Amazon gift card along with my credit card. I received the item very quickly utilizing the Free Super Saver shipping that was offered with te item. I received the watch and anxiously opened it hoping it was as described and it definitely is. The watch is a very classy time piece and since receiving it and wearing it on multiple ocassions I have gotten many compliments on the watch. I also have to say this is a high quality watch and has kept nothing but perfect time. Even though it is an automatic I have not yet had to reset the watch even after leaving the watch sit for a day or two. The watch is great and I definitely will buy the Stuhrling brand again. Very pleased with the item, price, and service!

The watch came in a very stylish, high-end looking package which gave a distinct high quality feeling of the product already when opening. Inside the watch box everything was neatly organized.

The watch itself is mesmerizing to watch. The skeleton mechanics are so beautiful to behold through the glass that you find yourself not looking at the time, but at the watch itself.

If I really have to find something to complain about, it would be that the wristband is a lot more blue than it looks in the pictures. This might also be due to my bad computer screen but it is not any kind of a deal breaker anyway. From the looks of it, I might very well order more Stührling watches.

I highly recommend this product if you want a skeleton watch with a lot of functions for a bargain price!

Great watch! I bought it for myself and love it! Looks sharp and like no watch I have ever owned. The transaction was very smooth and had the watch within 5 days of ordering it.

Stuhrling Original Men's 127A.3315C2 Emperor's Grandeur Automatic Skeleton Silver Dial Watch

With dedication to the heritage of Swiss watchmaking, Stuhrling Original timepieces appeal to the most discriminating taste at reasonable prices. The company has roots dating back to the 1800's when Switzerland emerged as the global leader in watchmaking. Stuhrling Original remains committed to its mission of preserving the high standards set in Switzerland manufacturing all of their fine timepieces in their Swiss-owned factory! Each and every model conveys an inimitable story with extraordinary style. You'll find heirloom selections for both men and women that even the most astute watch collector will cherish and admire.

In the workshops of Stuhrling Original, the unit specializing in mechanical movements, component selection, assembly, lubrication, adjustment and testing creates horological wonders entirely under vigilant attention of Swiss ownership and supervision. It is these workshops that produce the mechanical engines that are famous for meeting the highest existing criteria in there category. Starting with the main plate, the assembly process is performed in several consecutive stages up until anchoring the balance spring, which sets the watch into motion. Assembling a Stuhrling Original mechanical automatic movement comprises no less than 30 checkpoints, spread throughout the assembly process. Adjusting the angle of lift of the pallets, centering the balance-spring, poising the balance are just a few examples of these checkpoints; of which all are designed to enhance the performance of each movement. The movement must meet no less than seven criteria, including a mean variation in rate which is the highest standard in the industry in its class.

Stuhrling Original cases are distinguished by their technical complexity, their high-end aesthetic appeal and the quality of their finish. The watch cases are made from antimagnetic 316L surgical grade stainless steel, an extremely sophisticated alloy designed to stand up to intensive use. The rough parts, known as "middlecases" are blanked from a metal bar using a high-performance press. They then undergo eight successive stamping operations of a strength increasing gradually from 20 to 85 tons. Before each swaging operation, the middlecase is refired at a temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius, so as to temporarily reduce the hardness to a total stamping pressure of more than 400 tons. Finishing the cases then calls for fifteen polishing operations, all performed by hand alternating with nine baths guaranteeing immaculate cleanliness. Other components of the cases, such as rotating bezels or rider tabs also require a meticulous finish. The components of the cases are finally assembled by hand and rigorously tested.

Each Stuhrling Original dial has been designed to enable optimal read-off at a glance, while adding an element of artistic design. Stuhrling Original's dials are blanked from a brass plate and two cylindrical feet are soldered below to ensure security with the movement. Polishing operations, creating special effects through the use of vintage hydraulic German machines, and electroplating are just some of the more than forty operations required to make most StuhrlingOriginal dials. The transparent protective coating is applied in an immaculately clean environment before the various inscriptions are transfer printed using a gelatin pad which takes an impression from an inked block. On many of the dials the hour markers are either individually applied by hand or embossed into the dial and then topped with a special dye. The application of Super Luminova is performed by artisans with a nozzle pen connected to a high-pressure pipe which calls for intense concentration. Once finished, each dial undergoes careful aesthetic scrutiny under extreme magnification, as well as technical testing, to ensure it complies with all predefined dimensions and specifications.

Through meticulous labor, rigorous testing and examination of each timepiece by expert horologists, the vision of the Stuhrling Original timepiece is brought to life inside our workshops, where...

I'm not a diver so can't say how this watch works in the environment it was intended for but for normal daily use it's a great time piece! I totally love the tritium markers in there watches. Just sets the bar for how a watch should be made.

I will be adding more luminox watches in my future.

Casio Men's PRW5100G-4 Pro-Trek Tough Solar Atomic Analog-Digital Watch

This newest version of Casio's Pro-Trek 5000/5100 series is visually striking mostly matte black and sporting a polished black inner bezel where the degrees are listed in orange. With its' one-piece coated nylon strap, this new Pro-Trek sits around 18mm high or about 3-4mm higher on a wrist than the standard 500/5000 model depending on how tight the watch is worn. It also comes with a second elastic band with rubber no-slip grips on the back, and the buckle must be removed the band to thread it through the strap adapters on the watch. The solar panel on the face has a nice dark color, not a blue or purple tint that some other solar panels have. The LCD display has a sight orange tint keeping with the theme of the watch. While the minute hand will cover the LCD display, there is enough space to read the display at an angle even with the hand covering it.

The hour and minute hands have a generous amount of illumination on them (for Casio standards) and even the second hand is completely luminous on the tip beyond the eye. The hour markers do not have as bright of illumination, nor do they stay bright as long. The back-light is a bright white LED that illuminates across the face from the 6 o'clock position. It is bright enough to read the hands and most of the LCD display which is not back-lit, and can be set to auto-illuminate in 1 or 3 second increments.

The ABC functions are similar to other Pathfinders and pro-treks in this series as the second hand is used to measure barometric and altitude differential as well as acting as a compass needle. In the compass mode, the degrees are also listed on the LCD display. The graph is small located on the right side of the LCD display, giving trends for barometric pressure and altitude. The markings on the watch are small, and do hinder some of the functions that are easier to read on an all digital Pro-Trek or Pathfinder model.

A unique feature to this series of watch is the Tough Movement, which will auto-correct the position of the hands should they be exposed to shock or a magnetic field. Other things to note are that the world time is selected from the list of cites around the dial. The watch also has multi-band 6 atomic reception and the buttons can be muted. Holding the mode button for 3 seconds in any mode brings the watch back to the home screen.

This Pro-Trek is one of the most expensive of all models released in this series, but the striking color scheme, rugged looks and robust feature set make this a buy for any collector or casual adventurer willing to sacrifice some readability found in all-digital ABC watches for slick styling.

This is an amazing watch at a great price, it is almost half the price of the Black Titan PRW-5100YT-1J, with the only differences being the band, the color and the sapphire crystal, all things I do not need on this watch.

I would likely give this watch 3.5 stars if that option were available.

I have owned, and still own, a number of Casio watches, primarily G-Shocks and Pro-Treks. All in all, they are great, utilitarian and functional timepieces that I actually travel and trek with. When I need a watch that I don't have to worry about for any reason, I leave the swiss chronometers on the winders and head out with a Casio. These are the watches that have borne witness to far away jungles and Himalayan peaks.

I recently received this reviewed timepiece, and though still very new, here are my impressions. It is remarkably light given the size and number of functions built in. I can barely feel it on my wrist. It seems lighter than my other Pro-Treks. The analog hands are orange and easy to read against the dark face. Positioned properly at night, the watch picks up the atomic signal with no issues. All the functions work well enough, besides the thermometer which always registers body temperature, and has to be removed from the wrist in order to properly measure temperature. This is a fault that all Pro-Treks have, and I don't know why Casio hasn't built in some sort of compensating feature, since it is highly impractical to remove the watch and let it cool down in order to take an accurate temperature reading.

The countdown timer has a maximum of one hour, as opposed to many other Casios which allow countdown measuring from a full 24 hours. I often measure events at longer than an hour, so this is an inconvenience. The alarm functions are typical of Casio watches, and the alert volume is average. It would be nice to have a vibrate feature, as do some of the Garmin watches. It is easy to miss the alert tone in noisy environments, but I never miss the strong vibration of the Garmin. This watch attempts to use the analog dial for a host of functions, such as world time, barometer, compass, and altimeter. The problem is that there are so many different markings and they are so small it is nearly impossible to see what the second hand is pointing to. If you are relying on bearing, etc when you are on the move, you will have to stop and squint to see what the watch is indicating. It is much easier to rely on the digital display, but the digital display does not show everything that it might.

I also do not know why Casio doesn't encase the watch in its famous G-Shock housing. I am sure that the watch is sufficiently tough for most situations, but given that Casio touts the watch as a worthy companion for arduous sports such as high altitude mountaineering (it endorses at least one climber), it makes little sense that they don't add on the G-Shock protection. Also, this watch is water resistant to 100M, not 200M, so I would think carefully about dousing a watch filled with delicate sensors in the ocean for any significant period of time. I'd be much happier swimming with it if it had the G-Shock casing.

My biggest issue with the watch is its backlighting. The hands have a nice luminous glow (I don't know how that will hold up over time), but that glow lasts for less than a minute. After that, you need to rely on what Casio calls its LED backlighting with afterglow. This backlighting is simply ridiculous, and I imagine, would be terribly frustrating if you're trekking in the dark and need to see the watch data. There is a tiny light at the 6 o'clock position and when illuminated, it casts a dim glow onto the face of the watch, with the bottom half of the watch brighter, and the 12 o'clock position barely lit up at all. It's like the lights on the first digital watches from thirty years ago, that shone from one side and lit only a portion of the screen properly. What's worse is that the LED light casts not illumination but a shadow, yes, a shadow onto the the digital display. Using the light, the digital display is quite dark, and completely illegible. And, unlike most other digital watches, the digital rectangle has no back lighting of its own. What happened to that really nice blue back lighting that Casios have had for the last decade? Not here. Also, there is also no afterglow whatsoever. I don't know what Casio means by afterglow unless it's hoping that the moon might provide some light. The little white light comes on for a second or two, then it's gone. I have a PAW 1500 which has the blue backlighting that makes the entire face easy to read at night. The sum of these design decisions is to effectively render the watch useless at night. Unless you have a flashlight in your other hand.

The digital display is also rather small, and all the data on it is also small. Altitude measurements, for example, are difficult to read, much more so than on the digital PT's. I can accept this as a tradeoff for having a large analog face, but given the back light issues, it makes the watch much less user friendly, even in during the day. Forget about doing anything other than telling the time during dusk or darkness. You simply cannot see any of the digital display data once the sun goes down.

So the question really is what you're going to do with the watch. I think that for activities where data is critical, this is not the best choice. The digital-only versions of the Pro-Trek, while not as elegant, are far more useful. Likewise with the G-Shock models. You can actually read the data when on the move, and of course, day or night, you can see what you need to see. My PAW 1500 looks a bit goofy on my wrist around town, but it's far easier to use when I need the data that it provides (other than temperature). Aesthetically, this model looks very nice. It is large, yet understated, substantial yet somewhat refined (at least for this sort of watch). So it looks good on the wrist, but it trades practicality for its appearance.

I am still evaluating whether I will keep the watch, primarily because of the lighting issues. I do have to say that the price for this watch, $275, on Amazon is a bargain. It has a street price of $500-$1000 at the moment. It's also a very rare model, one that best as I can tell, has not been officially introduced to the U.S. market, other than Amazon's offering. I happen to really like the black and orange color scheme. The orange makes the hands very legible without being garish and the black case draws no notice. Given the price and the overall functionality of the watch, it's a pretty attractive buy. And, with the solar battery, it's one that won't let me down when I need it the most. It's really a fine watch- with the exception of the back light-there is no other brand out there that comes close to packing the number of features into such a refined package. It' just that the standard of G-Shocks and other Pro-Treks is so high, that it falters somewhat against its own cousins.

Fossil Men's CH2782 Flight Brown Dial Watch

I've received many compliments on this watch and I love the looks of it. It's nice and heavy and gives you that feel of a quality product. The details are great and I love how the crystal seems to 'fade to black' as you view it from the side.

I would definitely recommend this product!

We purchased this watch for our son-in-law for Christmas. He wanted a really nice watch to wear for business meetings. However, the watch is no longer useable because the hour hand has come loose and just hangs there. Considering the price of this watch, we really expected it to last more than 3 months.

this men's watch is fabulous! the worn in look of the leather is awesome! on the larger side but looks great! if i saw someone wearing this i would have to compliment! i gave it as a gift.

Polar FT80 Heart Rate Monitor

Sadly I must report quite a bit of disappointment with this product:

1) The screen is so poorly contrasted it's nearly impossible to read except in the best of light and the backlight only makes it tolerable -- and only for 5 seconds in a row.

2) I've unfortunately fallen victim to a problem that has affected hundreds of people as represented on the Polar forums -- the inability (over time, randomly) to synch to the web service. This bug is a software/synch. issue between the watch, windows software and the web service. It prevents the upload of your training results and if you're using the STAR program means you don't get the adaptive training routine downloaded to your watch. Further, it means you don't have access to the snazzy zone/interval graphs.

3) The feature set is misleading as it comes to being able to use certain functions; the realtime graph and rest interval display is really only available in the strength training routines and not for general aerobic activity as defined by the training program you choose on the web service.

4) There's no basic interval timer.

5) The buttons are difficult to operate and the bottom button requires more force than the top to push.

If you're a runner or cyclist, this is probably a fine watch, but the FT60 looks like a much better unit that you can actually *see*

Some of these might seem like minor issues, but I am basically left with a watch that does less than my $80 Mio Drive watch that doesn't require a chest strap for the pulse reading.

I'm very disappointed with this purchase.

Be very, very sure what sort of activity you wish to monitor for this price...and the screen absolutely sucks.

I can't see how this would be released as a saleable product. That picture to the right is NOT an accurate representation of the display...

I purchased an FT-80 just prior to Christmas. Whilst I was fairly happy with it for the first couple of weeks (the dim back-light and anemic audio tones notwithstanding), I came across a significant bug in the workout data tracking that renders it useless. There is clearly an issue with the firmware or the memory - after my Monday workout the stats for the week switched to 255 sessions, 65535 calories burned and 99:59:59 hours of exercise. Anyone familiar with computers will realize the significance of these numbers - it looks like the entire data slot got corrupted.

I thought this might be an isolated incident until I checked the Polar forums for the FT80. The posts are full of people complaining about this same issue, along with a host of other issues. There has been no official response from Polar, which is extremely poor. I contacted Polar technical support and have not heard back yet.

I strongly suggest anyone considering this model checks the Polar forums here:
[...]

Figured I would expand on my review now that I have used the product now for quite some time.

Overall I think the FT80 is worth the price, and is a fantastic tool that has completely transformed my life and motivated me to workout more. I will outline the the pros/cons below and hopefully I can shed some light on some other reviews as well from having the product for so long now.

What I love : The star training program and fitness test have worked as my complete motivator and those two features combined have helped me get back in shape after a longish layoff. The star program helped me not overtrain and burn myself out in the begining which was very important and the improvements shown in ownindex kept me motivated along with the trophies.

The design is great and I get complimented on it all the time. I have never had an issue with the display, yes it is reverse black/white but once I got use to it I actually prefer this now.
It was dimmer, but now the contrast is even brighter.(more on this later)

The transmitter is very comfortable. VERY. I have used every transmitter on the market, this is the most comfortable. I also have a Numetrex Tshirt with the strap built in I wear all the time. This GETS RID OF THE STRAP COMPLETELY for you users who are new to HR transmitters and feel you won't like it.

Polar's customer service here in the states is phenomenal. Unfortunately I had to talk to them though:(. I was one of the first people in the US to buy the Ft80, I worked in electronics for a long time, and I knew the risks of buying a 1st release. Software always has issues, in fact every OS I have had since the inception of computers have had problems that updates have fixed -- this computer was no different. After 6 weeks of using the star program the software in the watch froze up and gave me some crazy numbers and wouldn't let me download. Next morning I called Polar and got right through , spoke to a guy who was super nice and confirmed the problem to be a bug in the software that required a firmware update - no problem that is what I figured. But wait - I can't just update it from my computer? They have to do it?? Ugh..

So the nice cs guy walked me through a repair ticket thingy on their website and off it went back to Polar.. I was slightly annoyed I had to send it back because I have grown so fond of using it every day. So I went to the post office, sent it back(polar gave me a free label) and off it went this was a Monday. I get an auto email next day from Polar telling me they got the package, great.. That night I got home to find another email- this time a funny one telling me its on its way back and I don't have an excuse for not exercising now..lol. I laugh because they were right, I wouldn't workout without it hehe. I got the package back Thursday afternoon with everything fixed. DISPLAY brighter and a hand written thank you and I'm sorry card with little Polar hearts on it..

Afterwards I spoke with a rep at a local marathon - and he confirmed that the first version of FT80 had a bug and he guaranteed everything was fixed entirely and some even brought back from stores for the firmware to be updated.

So in all, I have used it about 5 months since the update and it has become an essential part of my training.

The product would have got 5 stars from me if:::

1)The Firmware at that point and in the future could be updated by me, automatically from my flowlink when I download.

2) The strength training was more versatile. And I could save my own workouts instead of using the preset ones.

3) If the Website could have an upload feature so I can share my workouts of Facebook.

I sincerely hope this helps peoples buying decisions.

Tissot Men’s T52142113 T-Classic Desire Leather Watch Reviews

I bought this Tissot to fill a need for a “classic” dress watch lacking in my collection. It certainly fits the bill according to my definition: it’s small, thin, has a black strap, simple dial, Roman numerals. Overall, very elegant and unassuming. Like another reviewer has stated, the styling is somewhat reminescent of the iconic Patek Philippe Calavatra, a $20,000+ watch. The watch is so far extremely accurate (it is dead on after a week, determined by setting the watch and referring back to http://www.time.gov). The case looks nicely finished. The packaging is very impressive: thick heavy box, hidden compartments, couple of small Tissot books.

A few complaints… The second-hand is noticably out of alignment with the indices on the dial; an annoying “defect” that is unfortunately common with quartz watches. I also don’t like the plasticky look and feel of the faux crocodile strap. I’ve owned genuine croc straps before, so I know how they look and feel. The strap is also a little too thick and beefy for such a thin low profile watch. Also, the buckle has the “TISSOT” logo printed on it, which makes it look cheap. It would be more elegant if the logo was embossed. I wound up removing the logo with a Q-tip dipped in acetone (i.e. nail polish remover); wipes right off. Nonetheless, I replaced the cheap strap with a thin, black genuine lizard skin strap ($30) with no stitching. The watch now looks even more classy and elegant and is more comfortable to wear as well.

Nonetheless, I still recommend this watch despite these shortcomings. It is a relatively good value for a Swiss-made dress watch. A poor-man’s Patek.

i really love this watch. it seems perfect to me. the only concern i have is if it makes noise.. ive had some cheap quartz watches and most of them tick like crazy. i cant stand that. could you let me know if this one ticks? and makes noise? would really apreciate it :)

Reviews:Kenneth Cole New York Unisex KC3963 Digital Black Screen Dial Watch

I love the digital face but calling this watch unisex is a bit of a stretch. The face is REALLY big for a female wrist. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good “boyfriend” watch (and I own a few Michael Kors, Relics, and Fossils to prove it), but this one is definitely my “man” watch. Cool for certain outfits but not a good universal watch for all looks.

very happy with the watch, good product for the price, happy with the service received and the transport of the article.

HOT:Bulova Men’s 98B151 Marine Star Black on Black Color Scheme Watch

If I could give this watch a 10 star I would. It has a nice design that that is very unique, it is not too big on my wrist and feels like it has a good weight. It feels solid and well made without being too heavy on my wrist. The wrist band is very comfortable. It is a bit big, but I have worn it to work and done things with it and it has never got in the way or felt as if it was uncomfortable but at the same time I wouldn’t wear this watch to the gym or where I was doing anything strenuous.
At first it felt clunky, bulky and weird but it quickly grew on me and has become my favorite watch. It is fancy enough to wear with a suit but sporty enough to wear with every day clothing. This watch fits me very well and often times I forget I have it on.

i tend not to leave any comments, but with this order i will. i purchased the item for 231.28 and the item drop the next day to 199.91, i was so upset, so i decide it to send amazon an email and guess what the difference of what it dropped the next day, was refund to my CC. the watch its gorgeous and slick, received a lot of comments from the ladys :) i hope it will last long
thank you Jon

Most popular Nautica Men’s N14536 NST Chronograph Watch

Great watch. Nice, solid construction. Keeps great time. Easy to read. Very comfortable strap/watch feel. The watch looked too big in the photo, but after getting it and wearing it for a couple of minutes, yes big, too big? No! It’s a conversation starter, for sure. Attractive finish, accents, etc. Can be worn everyday or just to the office. Casual, yet sophisticated. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a well priced, well made, casual sport watch with a very masculine appeal. Only drawback, no Indiglo? The hour/min. hands glow in the dark…as do the hour markers, but it’s hard to tell the time 5 hours after the last daylight…

If you like big dial watches and sport/Casual wear watches… HERE IT IS!!!, very nice and versatile casual/sport watch.

Invicta Men’s 0420 Pro Diver Automatic Black Dial Titanium Watch Reviews

I am a huge fan of these Pro Divers. I own quite a few of them and this one did not disappoint. Great time keeper. my watch looses about a minute every 3 weeks.
Bezel measures exactly 45mm. The crown stalk feel more substantial than the 8926 and is screw down. The titanium is great, feels light on the wrist. One thing though with titanium watches, when you turn the bezel the lighter medal feels a bit cheap but that only because the watch weighs next to nothing. As always, I am a very satisfied customer. Thanks for a great product Invicta.

Owning both the 8926OB (8926C now) and 9937OB (no longer sold by Amazon), I can say that this watch is the best looking of the three.

Quick summary: 8926 and 9937 are stylistically nearly identical. The 8926 has the 21-jewel Japanese Miyota. The 9937 has the better 25-jewel ETA 2824-2 Swiss movement and crystal (flame fusion over mineral) but is more than twice the price of the 8926.

The 0420 is a relatively new watch and uses the Seiko 21-jewel Japanese movement which is nearly the same in performance as the Miyota, i.e. you can’t manual wind the watch, it can’t be hacked (second hand does not stop with you pull the crown out) and the accuracy is similar. The Seiko movement is smaller in diameter than the Miyota and has a flashy flywheel with cursive lettering. The 9937 can be manually wound and hacked.

The 0420 visually is larger and has the better bezel lettering both in style and in size. The numbers are wider and easier to read. The “1″ used in the “10″ marker is greatly improved over the 8926 and 9937, which lacked style and difficult to read as it got lost in the minute markers. The date with cyclops is larger in font and also easier to read. (Magnification seems higher.) It’s nearly ideal for me since it’s visual size is close to the size of the bezel font. The larger face allows for larger hands and larger hour markers.

The crystal used in the 8926 and 0420 is mineral while the 9937 is flame-fusion. The flame-fusion according to many comments I’ve read is superior. I have banged against the crystal of the 8926 a number of times and it has not scratched. That being said, I don’t know why Invicta continues to release new watches with mineral crystals since they have said that all of the watches will eventually have flame-fusion. There are some Invicta watches that are less than 8926 that have flame-fusion, so price is not deciding point here. Strange company.

The titanium case and bracelet is so much lighter than the stainless steel in both the 8926 and 9937. The titanium is matte finished and does not stand out. Some people may find this a positive, others a negative. I like it because brings more attention to the face. The bracelet center links are highly polished though. Previous reviewers have been critical of the scratches they attract. I have not experienced this after more than a week of use.

All in all, this is a very sharp looking watch and in my mind, the best of three I own in terms of styling. It’s priced between the 8926 and 9937. I would definitely buy it over the 8926. The $50 or so difference in price is made up for by the styling and weight.
